This Blackberry Sangria is easy to make and so delicious. Great for a party, BBQ or just about anytime you want something refreshing.
Sangria Cocktail Tips:
Blackberries and mint are in abundance during the spring and early summer. If you skip add the zest you will be sacrificing a lot of flavor.
Can you make ahead?
Fridge: After making the sangria, cover and place in the fridge for up to 3 days. Add ice to glasses before serving.

You can use strawberries, blueberries or raspberries if you cannot find fresh blackberries.

Blackberry Mint Sangria
Ingredients
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 12 oz. fresh blackberries
- zest of 1 lemon sliced
- ½ oz. fresh mint
- 12-24 ice cubes
- 1 bottle of red wine
Instructions
- Turn on the heat to medium, in a medium pot add the sugar, water and lemon zest, bring to a boil. Add the blackberries, lemon slices, 4 mint leaves and ¼ cup of wine to the pot, remove from the heat and let sit at room temperature for 4 hours.
- Once syrup has cooled pour mixture into a 1 ½-2 quarts glass pitcher with ½ the mint, ice and bottle of wine. Stir mixture together. Serve in a tall glass with ice, a few blackberries, a slice of lemon and 1 sprig of mint, fill glass up ¾ way with sangria and enjoy.
