French Toast with Peach Sauce

  • Large bowl
  • Medium bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • 12-inch nonstick skillet
  • Spatula

Ingredients
  

French Toast:

  • 1 ½ cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices Texas toast day old or slightly toasted
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter

Peach Sauce:

  • 12 oz. frozen peaches
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl mix whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, kosher salt, vanilla; soak bread in mixture for about 10 seconds. Turn on the heat to medium-high in a large skillet melt 4 tablespoons of butter, cook bread for 2 minutes each side or until golden brown on each side.
  • Turn on heat to medium in a small sauce pot add the peaches, orange juice and sugar, bring to a boil about 5 minutes. Cut the heat off and stir in the vanilla. Serve the French toast family style with sauce over the top or on the side.
