That's where rum punch cocktail comes in. Primarily influenced by the Jamaican rum punch recipe, our version in New Orleans mirrors it with small tweaks but yields the same great incredible flavors.

What is Rum Punch?
Rum punch is a drink made with rum and fruit juices. The drink can be made with any type of rum, but dark rum is usually used. Pineapple juice, orange juice, and lime juice are common juices used in making rum punch. They are garnished with maraschino cherries or skewered citrus slices.
Rum was created in Jamaica and is the spirit of Jamaica. They use rum for various things, like using white rum for headaches, stomach aches, bruises, and cuts. We should pay attention to the originators with a love for rum.
The Jamaican rum punch says, "one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, and four of weak."
Sour is fresh lime juice, sweet is sugar or simple syrup, strong is rum, and weak is water or fruit punch.

Pro Recipe Tips & Tricks
Here are a few notes I had from making this outstanding rum punch recipe:

- White or gold rum will be lighter in color and have a slightly different flavor than if made with dark rum.
- Feel free to use a coconut rum like Malibu instead of regular white rum.
- You can find red grenadine near the wine section of grocery stores.
- If you cannot find grenadine, use a red fruit punch or red-colored fruit juice like pomegranate.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry for another pop of color. I like to pour the cherry syrup in mine occasionally.
- Use a blend of lime, orange, and lemon slices for garnishes.
- Serve rum punch in a mason jar, punch bowl, or hurricane glass.
