Sweet and Sour Sauce
Tips for success: Sauce should be kept in an airtight container in the fridge. Sauce is good for 2 weeks. You can make this recipe without the orange juice, just use water in its place.
Equipment
- Medium sauce pot
- Dry measuring spoon
- Liquid measuring cup
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup white vinegar
- ½ cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Turn on the heat to medium in a medium pot add the sugar, white vinegar, orange juice, ketchup and kosher salt, stir to combine, cook for 5 minutes. Once the mixture begins to simmer, mix cornstarch and water, add to pot and bring sauce to a boil, cook for 5 minutes. Transfer sauce to a bowl, cool and enjoy.
