The Best Spaghetti & Meatballs
Tips for success: My favorite can tomato sauce is Hunts. Note: After you boil your pasta toss with oil to keep it from sticking. When I was a kid my mom would stretch her spaghetti’s by adding hot dogs to the sauce. You can do the same, add the hot dogs when you add the meatballs to the sauce.

- Chef knife
- Cutting board
- Large mixing bowl
- Dry measuring cups
- Dry measuring spoons
- 5-quart pot
- Baking sheet
Ingredients
Turkey Meatballs:
- 2 lbs. ground turkey
- 4 sprigs thyme chopped
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup parmesan cheese plus more for garnish
- ¼ cup parsley chopped fine plus more for garnish
- ¼ cup unsalted milk
- 2 ½ teaspoons seasoning salt
- 1 lb. cooked spaghetti
Tomato Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon garlic oil
- 4 garlic cloves chopped fine
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 2 29 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- ¾ teaspoons black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven, in a large bowl mix the ground turkey, Italian seasoning, panko, parmesan, parsley, milk and kosher salt together. Roll into your preferred size meatballs, place on a foiled lined baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Turn on the heat to medium in a medium sauce pot, add the oil, garlic, oregano, Italian seasoning, bay leaves and cook for 20 seconds. Add the tomato sauce, kosher salt, black pepper and sugar, bring to a boil then reduce heat to low and simmer for 6 minutes. Add cooked meatballs to sauce and stir gently to make sure meatballs are evenly coated with sauce. Let sauce sit for 3 to 5 minutes before serving. Evenly divide spaghetti on plates and serve with meatballs and sauce, garnish with parmesan and parsley or add to a platter and serve family style.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
