Bananas Fosters Egg Rolls
Bananas foster is a non-traditional holiday dessert that would not be found on anybody's holiday spread. That's why you have to try new things and break tradition. These eggrolls have all the amazing flavor of the iconic New Orleans dessert.
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ cup spiced rum
- ¼ cup banana liqueur
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 6 bananas sliced
- 12 egg roll wraps
- 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
- 2 tablespoons milk
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum, banana liqueur and vanilla then fold in bananas making sure there covered in the sauce.
Take one egg roll wrap at a time, place three banana slices in the middle and fold, use water to seal the top. Repeat until all egg rolls are done.
Heat oil to 350 degrees, fry egg rolls 2-3 at a time depending on the size pan you use for 1-2 minutes each side or until they are golden brown.
In the same bowl that you made the bananas foster in, add powdered sugar and milk and mix until icing is smooth. Drizzle over egg rolls.
