Quick Teriyaki Fried Rice
Tips for success: If you have soy sauce at home you can use it as a great substitute for the teriyaki. Any hot sauce will work as a great substitute for Sriracha. If you have a soy allergy, coconut amino or liquid aminos are a great substitute. The secret to a great fried rice is a hot cast iron skillet. Home kitchens do not put out the same heat like they use in Chinese restaurants and the wok lends a slight iron flavor to your rice. This is why I use my cast iron skillet to make this dish and it does the job. You can add chicken, shrimp or 1 cup frozen stir fried vegetables. Just add when you’re cooking the onions.

Ingredients
- 4 eggs beaten
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion chopped medium
- 2 8.8 oz. uncle ben’s whole grain brown ready rice
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
- ½ cup water
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 6 green onions sliced medium
Instructions
- Turn on the heat to medium-high in a heavy bottom skillet add the butter once butter melted add the eggs and stir while cooking for 30 seconds, sit to the side.
- In the same skillet over medium-high heat add the oil and onions, cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the rice, onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper. Reduce heat to medium add the water and cook for 2 minutes remove from the heat. Stir in the teriyaki, eggs and half the green onions. Evenly divide amongst plate and drizzle Sriracha over top and garnish with remaining green onions.
